gobox Storage Protection Tips

Wrap or cover your goods with the right packing products before storing:

• Butcher's paper, tape and extra-wide bubble wrap
• Felt blankets, tea chests and book & wine cartons
• Port-a-robes for hanging clothes
• Special plastic lounge and mattress covers

• Wrap each fragile item individually in butcher's paper or bubble wrap.
• Clearly label cartons as Fragile so they're handled with care.

• Pack clothes clean, with cedar blocks or similar to keep them fresh.
• Use gobox clothing and linen bags, port-a-robes or tea chests.

• Pack books flat in smaller boxes so the spines don't break.
• Never pack fragile items together with books.

• Separate goods with felt blankets, cushions, cardboard or bubble wrap – both while moving and in storage.
• Position soft cloths or cardboard underneath mattresses, couches, boxes and beds for extra protection.

• Always enclose couches and mattresses in our special covers before moving.
• It could be raining on moving day, so covers keep them protected in transit and storage.

• Empty wardrobes, cupboards and drawers while moving to protect the shelves and structure.
• Refill them once your furniture is in storage.

• Defrost, dry and clean fridges and freezers before storing.
• Always store fridges upright – never on their side.
• Keep fridge doors slightly ajar and leave a deodoriser (e.g. baking soda) inside.
• Disconnect and drain washing machine hoses, then seal each hose-end in a sealed bag.

• Remove food crumbs and stains from clothing and soft furnishings before storage.
• Never store food of any kind – including wheat bags and dried flowers – to avoid attracting vermin.

• Drain garden hoses, coil them with the ends connected, and store in clean bins.
• Store mowers with a half-full tank on a board or plastic sheet in case of leakage.

• Visit your unit periodically to check on your goods – gobox does not have access to customers' units.
• Maximum load is 3,000kg per gobox unit; we can't relocate an overloaded unit until it's reduced.
