STORED SAFE. RETURNED PERFECT.
A few simple steps keep your belongings clean, dry and damage-free while they’re in gobox mobile storage — here’s the full checklist.

Wrap or cover goods with the right products before storing: butcher’s paper, tape and extra-wide bubble wrap; felt blankets, tea chests and book & wine cartons; Port-a-Robes for hanging clothes; plastic lounge and mattress covers.
Wrap each fragile item individually in butcher’s paper or bubble wrap, and clearly label cartons as Fragile so they’re handled with care.
Pack clothes clean, with cedar blocks or similar to keep them fresh. Use clothing and linen bags, Port-a-Robes or tea chests.
Pack books flat in smaller boxes so the spines don’t break, and never pack fragile items together with books.
Separate goods with felt blankets, cushions, cardboard or bubble wrap — in transit and in storage. Soft cloths or cardboard under mattresses, couches and beds add extra protection.
Always enclose couches and mattresses in our special covers before moving — it could be raining on the day, and covers protect them in transit and storage.
Empty wardrobes, cupboards and drawers while moving to protect shelves and structure — refill them once the furniture is in place in storage.
Defrost, dry and clean fridges and freezers. Store fridges upright — never on their side — with doors slightly ajar and a deodoriser (like baking soda) inside. Disconnect, drain and bag washing machine hoses.
Remove food crumbs and stains from clothing and soft furnishings before storing, and never store food of any kind — including wheat bags and dried flowers.
Drain garden hoses, coil them with the ends connected, and store in clean bins. Store mowers with a near-empty tank on a board or plastic sheet in case of leakage.
Visit your unit periodically to check your goods — gobox doesn’t access customers’ units. Maximum load is 3,000kg; an overloaded unit can’t be relocated until it’s reduced.
Number your boxes and keep a simple list of what’s in each. Finding one item later becomes a two-minute job, and a written inventory is exactly what an insurer asks for if you ever need to claim.
Pair this with our packing tips and how to store guides — and remember covers, blankets and boxes are all available from gobox, just ask when you book.
Tap to play — securing your load the right way.
Every gobox has internal tie-rails and straps. Used right, they keep furniture pinned through every kilometre — and correct strapping is what keeps damage claims at zero.
