How to box, wrap and load your gobox so everything arrives exactly as it left — with the packing products to match.
Please read carefully — damage caused by incorrect packing is not covered by any insurance arranged by or through gobox.
Protect your items with felt blankets, old blankets or towels. Felt blankets are available from gobox.
Place heavy items on the bottom, stack light items on top, and distribute weight evenly through the unit — avoid loading one side.
Pack items as tightly as possible to prevent shifting and damage, and fill boxes completely so cartons can’t collapse or shift.
Pack heavier items in smaller boxes so they lift easily, and use uniform box sizes for stable stacking — gobox packing boxes are designed for exactly that.
Securely close every box, mark each with your name and contents, and place things you’ll need often at the front of the unit.
Use smaller book & wine boxes for glassware, wrap each item individually in bubble wrap or butcher’s paper, stack dishes on their side and glassware upright, and pack open space tight with paper.
Disassemble where possible, cover with cloth or felt blankets, stand lounges on end (protecting armrests), and use protective covers for mattresses and bases.
Clean thoroughly, drain all water (washing machines, fridges, freezers), tape down moving parts, store light padded items inside, and keep fridge and freezer doors ajar to prevent mildew.
Wrap in butcher’s paper or bubble wrap and pack tightly into a picture/mirror carton. Never lay mirrors flat.
Port-a-Robes are best for clothing — shoes and folded items at the bottom, hanging clothes above.
Pack books and papers into the smaller book & wine cartons — big boxes of books are back-breakers.
Four hard rules — no exceptions.
Do not load more than 3 tonnes in one gobox. Do not place flammable or hazardous materials in your unit. Do not store liquids. Do not let children play in, on, or around your gobox.
