Southbank is an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 1 km (0.62 mi) south of the Melbourne central business district, located within the Melbourne and Port Phillip local government areas. Southbank recorded a population of 22,631 at the 2021 census.
Its southernmost area is considered part of the central business district of the city. Southbank is bordered to the north by the Yarra River, and to the east by St Kilda Road. Southbank's southern and western borders are bounded by Dorcas Street, Kings Way, Market Street, Ferrars Street, and a triangle bordered by Gladstone Street, Montague Street and the West Gate Freeway.
Southbank was formerly a mostly industrial area, and simply part of the locality of South Melbourne, and the City of South Melbourne.
It was transformed into a densely populated district of high rise apartment and office buildings beginning in the early 1990s, as part of an urban renewal program. With the exceptions of the cultural precinct along St Kilda Road, few of the older industrial buildings were identified for retention.
I stored my personal items for 5 years with GoBox. They were affordable, professional, reliable and helpful from beginning to end.
Go box has been fantastic service was impressive from start to finish. Box was skilfully placed and removed by Tim on 2 tricky driveways with so much care . Also the advice on packing helped so much. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Gobox. From start to finish, the service has been smooth, professional, and stress-free during what I thought would be a very overwhelming time for me. Alex at Gobox has been absolutely exceptional. She went above and beyond to help me, especially when I needed a second container organised at the last minute. Nothing was too much trouble, and she handled everything quickly and efficiently, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. The containers are clean and secure. The flooring is fantastic; even, smooth and again, very clean. I hired straps and blankets and the ones provided looked brand new. The container is exactly what I needed to store my furniture and belongings. I feel that my items are in safe hands. Thank you Gobox — and especially Alex — for making this process so much easier. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone needing storage in Adelaide.
